Training in Management skills: Words from the Participants

Guylaine et Aly participated together with other professionals in our skills development training...
Aly Ghezayel, Sales Director Industry - Polychrome: "I learned to say WE rather than I"

"I learned that the attitude of a good manager is in dialogue and exchange with his team... That he must behave like a leader rather than a boss. I learned to say "we" instead of "I."

Since attending the training, I communicate better with my teams. I tried to adapt my communication to involve my collaborators more and delegate more. I trust them more easily, which has the effect of valuing them. I feel they are more involved today.

Feedback and SMART goal setting are concrete tools that I learned during the training and that I use regularly.

This training opened my eyes to the behaviors to adopt to become a good manager, have a leadership mindset and lead teams towards achieving objectives. I am convinced that by behaving better, by making its employees want to exceed the objectives, it drives the entire performance of the company. »

Guylaine Zafack, Senior Investment Officer - Africa Consulting & Trading (ACT): "I was able to immediately apply what I learned"

"The position I hold is my first position as a Manager, with employees under my responsibility. Before participating in this training, I managed a lot of feeling.

My participation in this training allowed me to acquire many tips and tools. I am thinking, for example, of the technique of open-ended questions. The trainer also gave us several keys to know how to delegate better. Having never held a position as a Manager, I have always been very autonomous in my work. My natural inclination, before the training, was therefore not to delegate, for fear that the work would not be as well done as if I did it by myself. Today, I delegate with confidence, which allows me to devote myself to other tasks.

Thanks to this training, I also understood the importance of communication. I try to give regular feedback with my collaborators and also focus on everything positive.

If I had to recommend this training, I would highlight its very practical side. In the days and weeks that followed, I was able to concretely apply what I learned and adjust according to the first results. The tools I mentioned, I will be able to use for years. I haven't used everything I've learned yet... What we get out of it is sustainable.

The other strong point of the training is its short format. This is appreciable for professionals who often have trouble freeing up time. »

Lasting two or three days, Managerial Skills is a practical training that aims to change the state of mind, behaviors and posture of managers in current or future positions of supervision.
